Welcome to DormLoop. By creating an account or using our app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.
Eligibility
To use DormLoop, you must:
- Be a currently enrolled college student with a valid school-issued .edu email address
- Be at least 13 years old
- Provide accurate information during registration
We recommend users be 18 or older for in-person meetups and transactions.
Account rules
- You may maintain one account per person
- You may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a school
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
Listing rules
You may list items for sale, trade, or giveaway on your campus feed, subject to the following restrictions. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or weapon accessories
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
- Alcohol (where prohibited by law or campus policy)
- Prescription medications
- Counterfeit or stolen goods
- Services in exchange for grades (academic dishonesty)
- Anything illegal under federal, state, or local law
We reserve the right to remove any listing that violates these rules or our community standards.
User-to-user transactions
DormLoop is a platform that connects students — we are not a party to any sale, trade, or exchange between users. You understand and agree that:
- All transactions are conducted directly between users
- DormLoop does not process payments, offer refunds, or provide buyer/seller guarantees
- You are solely responsible for inspecting items and agreeing on terms before exchanging money or goods
- You should meet in public campus spaces (student union, library, dining hall) for all in-person exchanges
Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Post spam, misleading listings, or duplicate content
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically collect data from the app
- Attempt to circumvent campus restrictions or verification systems
- Use DormLoop for any unlawful purpose
Content license
You retain ownership of all content you post (photos, descriptions, messages). By posting content on DormLoop, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the marketplace (e.g., showing your listing on your campus feed).
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we believe your account poses a risk to other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@dormloop.app.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
DormLoop is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings, the conduct of users, or the outcome of any transaction.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DormLoop and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to disputes between users, lost profits, or personal injury during meetups.
Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
